              — an Update to the open house project and signal enhance —

              A Statement from the founder:

              Hey!

This is Kenneth here, founder of the open house. Project and Signal Enhance as a whole. If you’ve been following this project at all, I do have some bad news. I’m sorry to say that the open house. Project, a true passion project on me, has moved into a dormant stage, and is only being worked on in the background. I sincerely apologize for this, and while I know it never received widespread attention in the first place, for those that were excited to back the project and initiative, we sadly could not work it out so that we could launch on Kickstarter. From a personal standpoint, I would like to communicate that I am currently the only developer, or more accurately, the only contributor of any type. This project was and still is a passion project as a whole, and idea that I really love and have faith in that I hope to still try and bring to life in the future, although over a much longer timeframe than initially hoped. The main hurdle is the fact that I could not fund to reach a prototype that would communicate the vision I have for the project.

In my opinion, anybody with some technical knowhow could program a Raspberry Pi, attach a screen and LED strip, record a “demo” and call it a day. And I have such tools necessary to do so, matter of fact, they are surrounding my keyboard and mouse as I type this. But that feels to me to be a dishonest form of work. It does not show any where near the actual device, which is the definition of a prototype. If I were developing just the software on a hardware platform that was already fully created by someone else, that would be one thing, but I am trying to give people an entire platform, built on a self-designed specification. The prototype doesn’t need to be 1:1, but it needs to be, like, 2.5:4, or whatever they say.

Anyways, all of that is to say, I am sorry, and I don’t mean to make excuses. I do have ideas on potentially still receiving funding, but it is not guaranteed. For any one following this project, if you still have a genuine interest, feel free to reach out to me using the link below for questions or comments.

Let me make this clear though: it *is* still being worked on. I am just more so stepping away from announcing it to the public. It also may take longer, because of the funds as I mentioned before, but I am still working on it, so do not think that it’s just gone forever.

The only thing that should not be open– is your privacy.

              – Kenneth Irving, Founder –
